A method of transmitting data in a packet radio network to a mobile station (MS) performing a routing area update and wherein the network comprises at least a first support node (SGSN1) and a second support node (SGSN2). The first support node relays data from the packet radio network to the mobile station. In response to receiving from the second support node a request for the context data of the mobile station, which indicates a routing area update in respect of the mobile station, the first support node sends, from its memory, data addressed to the mobile station to the second support node. When the routing area is being updated, the first support node delays data transmission until a condition is fulfilled, wherein the condition is defined such that upon the fulfilment of the condition it is at least probable that the second support node has at its disposal the context data of the mobile station. The support node and the program carrier performing the routing area update are also described.
