A system and method for manually removably locking a paper handling module to a reproduction apparatus with greatly reduced manual force, wherein the reproduction apparatus and the paper handling module have respective sheet feed openings which are operatively aligned for sheet feeding therebetween when the module is so locked to the reproduction apparatus in a locking position and wherein the paper handling module has a weight which is undesirable for manual lifting into the locking position. The module is supported on an integral module transporting system to be freely movable in any horizontal direction into an initial docking position closely adjacent to the reproduction apparatus. Then, slightly vertically lifting at least one side of the module with only a small vertical manual lifting force while most of the weight of the module is lifted with an automatic weight lifting system, moving the module towards the locking position, and then removing the small vertical manual lifting force from the module, to drop and lock the module to the reproduction apparatus. The automatic weight lifting may be provided by vertically movably spring loading at least one side of the module on the module transporting system.
Système et méthode pour verrouiller manuellement et de façon amovible un chargeur de papier sur un appareil de reproduction avec une force manuelle grandement réduite. L'appareil de reproduction et le chargeur de papier possèdent des ouvertures respectives pour l'alimentation en feuilles, lesquelles sont alignées pour l'alimentation en feuilles quand le chargeur est verrouillé à l'appareil de reproduction dans une position verrouillée. Le chargeur est trop lourd pour être soulevé manuellement jusqu'à la position verrouillée. Le chargeur est soutenu par un module intégral de transport afin d'être complètement mobile à l'horizontale jusque dans une position d'accrochage initiale adjacente de très près à l'appareil de reproduction. Puis, il s'agit de soulever un peu à la verticale au moins un côté du chargeur, en utilisant qu'une petite force de levage manuelle verticale tandis que la plupart du poids du chargeur est soulevé par un système automatique de levage, de déplacer le chargeur vers la position de verrouillage, puis de retirer la petite force de levage manuelle verticale du chargeur, de poser le chargeur et de le verrouiller à l'appareil de reproduction. Le levage automatique peut être obtenu en montant sur ressort, à la verticale et de façon amovible, au moins un côté du chargeur sur le module de transport.
