A shaft support or mount for supporting a conveyor roller and for dampening the vibrations of the conveyor roller or conveyor roller assembly in operation, by providing flexible connection means in the shaft support, which is usually comprised of rubber. The shaft support is further designed for increased resistance to shearing or de-lamination resulting from the rotational operation of the conveyor roller. The shaft support includes means for resisting the separation of the rubber from other surfaces of the shaft support, usually metal, which is caused by operation of the conveyor roller, thereby providing a more durable and resistant shaft support. A method of dampening the transmittal of vibrations of a conveyor roller assembly is also provided.
