A ventilated sliding closure having a ventilator integral with the frame head is disclosed. The closure includes a frame which consists of a frame head, a sill and two vertical jambs. The frame supports two or more panels, at least one of which is a horizontally sliding panel. The frame head includes two parallel spaced apart support rails which engage longitudinal grooves in the top rails of each panel. The support rails include apertures which provide an air flow path through the frame head. A closure of the hit-and-miss type for the apertures is preferably included in the frame head to provide selective control of the ventilation.
