ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A screen element or screen basket for sorting and classifying a fluid flow, in particular for treatment of fiber suspensions or for mechanical purification of molasses, includes a screen insert having a support screen for taking up forces or loads during operation and a plurality of screen inserts which are provided with classifying openings. The screen inserts are detachably secured to the support screen allowing individual replacement during wear or damage.
