A method and system of controlling transmit power of a forward link signal between a basestation and a mobile device in a communications network, the method comprising the steps of sending a first signal from the basestation to the mobile device, the first signal having a first signal transmit power; receiving the first signal at the mobile device; measuring the first signal for a received signal to noise ratio at the mobile device; sending a second signal from the mobile device to the basestation, the second signal containing information about the received signal to noise ratio; and setting the transmit power of the forward link signal based on the received signal to noise ratio information and the first signal transmit power, whereby if the received signal to noise ratio is high the setting step sets the transmit power of the forward link signal lower, and if the received signal to noise ratio is low the setting step sets the transmit power of the forward link signal higher.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de réglage de puissance d'émission d'un signal de liaison aval entre une station de base et un dispositif mobile dans un réseau de communications, le procédé consistant : à envoyer un premier signal, de la station de base au dispositif mobile, le premier signal présentant une première puissance d'émission de signaux ; à recevoir le premier signal sur le dispositif mobile ; à mesurer le premier signal pour un rapport signal sur bruit reçu sur le dispositif mobile ; à envoyer un second signal, du dispositif mobile à la station de base, le second signal contenant des informations relatives au rapport signal sur bruit reçu ; et à régler la puissance d'émission du signal de liaison aval en fonction des informations de rapport signal sur bruit reçues et de la première puissance d'émission de signaux, ainsi, si le rapport signal sur bruit reçu est élevé, l'étape de réglage abaisse la puissance d'émission du signal de liaison aval et si le rapport signal sur bruit reçu est faible, l'étape de réglage élève la puissance d'émission du signal de liaison aval.
