An improved method for forming films of organo-metallic complexes in which an organic complex and a labile metal salt are vaporised together or sequentially and the vapour condensed on to a substrate to form a film or layer of the organo-metallic complex on the substrate. The method produces electroluminescent films with improved performance.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé perfectionné de formation de films de complexes organo-métalliques. Selon ledit procédé, on vaporise simultanément ou séquentiellement un complexe organique et un sel de métal labile, et l'on fait condenser la vapeur formée sur un substrat de manière à former un film ou une couche du complexe organo-métallique sur le substrat. Ce procédé permet la fabrication de films électroluminescents dotés de caractéristiques améliorées.
