The invention provides a metal louvered safety blind having a frame assembly, a plurality of slats movable within the frame assembly, a rod assembly for moving the slats to open and closed positions, and a lock bolt assembly for fixing the blinds in the closed position. The present blind is pleasant in appearance and effective in controlling light like a louvered blind, is as strong as bars or shutters to keep intruders out, and is quickly removable from the inside of a premises if required. It is also simpler to operate, take less space and costs less than prior art devices.
