A television system controls the channel to which a particular viewer's television device is tuned each time the viewer first turns on the television device. The system provides for an "Entry Channel" to be identified to the viewer's television device. The identified Entry Channel can be sent to the viewer's television device through a television signal, radio signal or any other communication method, or can be determined by the television system.
