Novel specific crystals of 2-methyl-c-5-{4-[5~methyl-2-(4-methylphenyl)-1,3- oxazol-4-yl]butyl}-1,3~dioxane-r-2-carboxylic acid. The crystals of 2-methyl-c- 5-{4-[5-methyl~2-(4-methylphenyl)-1,3-oxazol-4-yl]butyl}-1,3-dioxane-r- 2~carboxylic acid, in X-ray powder diffractometry, for example, give a spectrum having peaks at least at diffraction angles of 12.4~, 17.1~, and 20.8~. Also provided is a preventive or therapeutic agent for coronary diseases, cerebral infraction, hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, hypertension, or obesity which contains the crystals as an active ingredient.

L'invention porte sur de nouveaux cristaux spécifiques d'acide 2-méthyl-2-c-5-{4-[5-méthyl-2-(4-méthylphényl)-1,3-oxazole-4-yl]butyl}-1,3-dioxane-r-2-carboxylique dont les cristaux en poudre présentent en diffractométrie RX un spectre présentant des pics pour au moins les angles de diffraction de 12,4·, 17,1· et 20,8·. L'invention porte également sur un agent préventif ou curatif des maladies coronariennes, des infarctus du cerveau, de l'hyperlipidémie, de l'artériosclérose, du diabète, de l'hypertension ou de l'obésité, contenant lesdits cristaux comme principe actif.
