The invention provides biodegradable implants size for implantation in an ocular region and methods for treating medical conditions of the eye. The implants are formed from a mixture of hydrophilic end and hydrophobic end PLGA, and deliver active agents into an ocular region without a high burst release. Preferably the implant is made by a double extrusion process. Preferably at least 75% of the particles of the avtive agent have a diameter of less than 10 or 20 microns.

La présente invention concerne des implants biodégradables de dimensions permettant une implantation dans une région oculaire, et des procédés pour traiter des états médicaux de l'oeil. Les implants, qui sont faits d'un mélange PLGA (polylactide/polyglycolide) hydrophile à une extrémité et hydrophobe à l'autre extrémité, libèrent sans à-coup les principes actifs dans la région oculaire. De préférence, ces implants sont réalisés par double extrusion. De préférence, 75 % au moins des particules du principe actif ont un diamètre n'atteignant pas 10 ou 20 ?m.
