Abstract The present invention relates to a tie bar to connect a hollow section that incorporates a detent recess, with a supporting element that has a clamping edge lip, in particular for connecting hollow profile bars with undercut grooves as clamping edge lips on the vertical supports of frameworks that can be assembled and disassembled. This tie bar has a housing that can be introduced into the hollow section and locked by means of a catch in the recess of the hollow section, and with a clamping spring that can be moved from a clamping start position into a clamping end position, with a clamping finger section that engages behind the clamping edge lip in the clamping end position. The clamping spring and the catch are arranged so as to be moveable within the housing. In the course of the clamping movement of the clamping spring the clamping finger section can be moved into a clamping spread position that is oriented transversely to the longitudinal axis of the housing by way of a support that can be fixed to the housing. The clamping spring and/or the catch 7 have a catch link that is in the shape of a cam that interacts with the catch pin that engages therein and which connects the clamping spring and the catch so that they are immovable.
