An optical fiber has a structure for suppressing the occurrence of a nonlinear phenomenon effectively while not increasing the transmission losses such as the bending loss. The optical fiber has a central region having a predetermined refractive index, a first annular region having a refractive index higher than that of the central region and a second annular region which is doped with fluorine and has a refractive index lower than that of the first annular region in this order from the central axis in the radial direction. Particularly, the optical fiber has an effective cross-sectional area of more than 70 µm2 for a light with a wavelength of 1550 nm, and the dosage of fluorine is so adjusted that the refractive index of the region lowers in the radial direction from the center of the optical fiber.

L'invention concerne une fibre optique qui possède une structure permettant de supprimer efficacement un phénomène non linéaire sans augmenter les pertes de transmission telles que des pertes par courbure. La fibre optique comporte une région centrale présentant un indice de réfraction prédéterminé, une première région annulaire présentant un indice de réfraction plus élevé que celui de la région centrale et une deuxième région annulaire qui est dopée à la fluorine et présente un indice de réfraction inférieur à celui de la première région annulaire, dans cet ordre à partir de l'axe central dans le sens radial. En particulier, la fibre optique comporte une zone de section transversale utile supérieure à 70 µm?2¿ pour une lumière de longueur d'onde de 1550 nm, et le dosage de fluorine est tel que l'indice de réfraction de la région diminue dans le sens radial à partir du centre de la fibre optique.
