The present invention is directed to phenylalanine ammonia-lyase (PAL) produced by prokaryotes, wherein such prokaryotic PAL wherein the PAL variant has a greater phenylalanine-converting activity and/or a reduced immunogenicity as compared to a wild-type PAL. The invention thus provides compositions of bacterial PAL and biologically active fragments, mutants, variants and analogs thereof, as well as methods for the production, purification, and use of such compositions for therapeutic and industrial purposes.
L'invention concerne la phénylalanine ammoniac-lyase (PAL) produite par des procaryotes, une telle PAL procaryotique dans lequel la variante PAL ayant une plus grande activité de transformation de phénylalanine et/ou une immunogénicité réduite par rapport à une PAL de type sauvage. L'invention fournit ainsi des compositions de PAL bactérienne et des fragments biologiquement actifs, des mutants, leurs variantes et leurs analogues, ainsi que des procédés pour la production, la purification, et l'utilisation de telles compositions à des fins thérapeutiques et industrielles.
