The present invention provides a method for identifying a microarray probe set capable of identifying a member of a group of related nucleotide sequences, the method comprising the steps of providing a candidate probe set comprising at least one probe capable of differentially hybridizing to two or more members of the group of related nucleotide sequences, testing reactivity of the probe set against two or more members of the group of related nucleotide sequences, and observing the degree of difference in the patterns of reactivity of the probe set for the two or more members of the group of related nucleotide sequences.

La présente invention concerne un procédé d'identification d'un ensemble de sondes de puce à ADN capables d'identifier un élément d'un groupe de séquences de nucléotides apparentées, ledit procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à produire un ensemble de sondes candidates comprenant au moins une sonde capable de s'hybrider de façon différentielle à deux ou plus de deux éléments du groupe de séquences de nucléotides apparentées, tester la réactivité de l'ensemble de sondes vis-à-vis de deux ou plus de deux éléments du groupe de séquences de nucléotides apparentées et observer le degré de différence dans les schémas de réactivité de l'ensemble de sondes pour les deux ou plus de deux éléments du groupe de séquences de nucléotides apparentées.
