The invention is directed to a method including the steps of providing at least one layer of unlaminated elastin or un-laminated elastin-based materials or unlaminated tropoelastin materials. Then, the unlaminated elastin or unlaminated elastin-based materials or unlaminated tropoelastin materials is subjected to heating and pressing steps. The pressing step of the present invention is preferably conducted in the presence of steam. The laminated elastin or laminated elastin-based materials or laminated tropoe-lastin materials preferably comprises a multi-layer composite material. Typically, the step of adhering with an adhesive material the laminated elastin or laminated elastin-based materials or laminated tropoelastin materials is employed in order to achieve a water-tight engagement with the tissue substrate. A biogradable cyanocrylate glue is generally used in order to achieve quick and easy way to secure the patch in place and provide watertight fusion instantly. Preferably, the adhesive material comprises an alkoxy alkyl cyanoacrylate material.

Cette invention concerne un procédé qui consiste à préparer au moins une couche d'élastine non stratifiée, de matériaux non stratifiés à base d'élastine ou de matériaux non stratifiés à base de tropoélastine, puis à soumettre ces derniers à un chauffage et à un pressage. L'étape de pressage se déroule de préférence en présence de vapeur. L'élastine stratifiée, les matériaux stratifiés à base d'élastine ou les matériaux stratifiés à base de tropoélastine comprennent de préférence un matériau composite multicouches. L'étape de collage de l'élastine stratifiée, des matériaux stratifiés à base d'élastine ou des matériaux stratifiés à base de tropoélastine à l'aide d'une matière adhésive permet d'obtenir un contact étanche à l'eau avec le substrat tissulaire. On utilise de manière générale une colle biodégradable à base de cyanoacrylate afin de fixer rapidement et facilement le timbre en position, et d'obtenir une fusion instantanée étanche à l'eau. La matière adhésive comprend de préférence un matériau à base de cyanoacrylate alcoxy alkyle.
