A process for making a compound of Formula (I) by oxidative coupling of a compound of the formula (II) in the presence of a molecular oxygen-containing gas and a copper-containing catalyst produced by contacting a copper halide salt with an organic diamine compound. Some compounds of the formula (I) are also claimed.

L'invention a trait à un procédé consistant à produire un composé représenté par la formule (I), par le couplage oxydant d'un composé représenté par la formule (II), en présence d'un gaz contenant de l'oxygène moléculaire et d'un catalyseur contenant du cuivre, ce dernier étant produit par la mise en contact d'un sel d'halogénure de cuivre avec un composé diamine organique. L'invention concerne également certains composés représentés par la formule (I).
