The invention tests the operation of a CRT X-ray protector circuit without applying an abnormally high voltage to the CRT. In addition to a first reference voltage corresponding to the detected voltage which is the standard for the operation of the X-ray protector for use in a display device with the CRT, a second reference voltage set at a value lower than the first reference voltage and higher than 0 V is provided to enable the operation of the X-ray protector circuit by comparing the detected voltage with the second reference voltage at the time of testing the X-ray protector circuit's operation. A third reference voltage, higher than the first reference voltage, is compared to the detected voltage during channel switching or external input switching to prevent erroneous activation of the X-ray protector.
L'invention permet de vérifier le fonctionnement d'un circuit de protection contre les rayons X pour tubes cathodiques sans appliquer une tension anormalement élevée aux tubes cathodiques. En plus d'une première tension de référence correspondant à la tension détectée, qui est la tension de fonctionnement standard du circuit de protection contre les rayons X pour les écrans cathodiques, une deuxième tension de référence inférieure à la première et supérieure à 0 V est établie pour faire fonctionner le circuit de protection contre les rayons X en comparant la tension détectée avec elle au moment de la vérification du fonctionnement du circuit de protection contre les rayons X. Une troisième tension de référence plus élevée que la première est comparée à la tension détectée durant la commutation des canaux ou la commutation des entrées externes pour empêcher l'activation erronée du circuit de protection contre les rayons X.
