A portable memory device that is capable of easy connection to a PC via a USB port or similar port (i.e., firewire) and includes a memory. Stored in the memory are an email program and certain information necessary to access an email account such as an email account username and password, post office protocol (POP) and simple mail transfer protocol (SMTP) information. In order to view, send and save email, a user connects the portable memory device to a first PC that is connected to a network such as the internet. The user then instructs the PC to execute the email program residing on the portable memory device. The email program executes and operates on the PC.
