The invention is concerned with a method for the determination of the charging state of filtrates of fiber masses used in the manufacturing of paper and cardboard. In the method, a sample is filtrated from fibers through a filter, and indicator color is added to the filtrate. The absorbance of the filtrate is measured and the charging state of the solution is read from an earlier made calibration curve that corresponds to the measured absorbance. In the first embodiment of the invention, the calibration curve is made by taking a sufficient amount of samples from the same anionic sample and such different known amounts of cationic agent are added to these samples, that at least a part of the samples are cationic and at least a part of the samples are anionic. The charging states of the filtrated samples are determined in a previously known way, e.g. by cationic titration or potentiometric measurements, whereafter the absorbances corresponding to the charging states are measured, and a calibration curve or table is drawn, wherein a given absorbance corresponds to a given charging state.
Cette invention se rapporte à un procédé servant à déterminer l'état de charge de filtrats de masses de fibres utilisées dans la fabrication de papier et de carton. Dans ce procédé, un échantillon est filtré à partir de fibres à travers un filtre et une couleur indicatrice est ajoutée au filtrat. L'absorbance du filtrat est mesurée et l'état de charge de la solution est lu à partir d'une courbe d'étalonnage préalablement établie, qui correspond à l'absorbance mesurée. Dans le premier mode de réalisation de cette invention, on produit la courbe d'étalonnage en prélevant une quantité suffisante d'échantillons dans le même échantillon anionique et en ajoutant à ces échantillons des quantités connues différentes d'agents cationiques, une partie au moins de ces échantillons étant cationique et une partie au moins de ces échantillons étant anionique. Les états de charge des échantillons filtrés sont déterminés selon une technique déjà connue, par exemple par titrage cationique ou par mesures potentiométriques, puis les absorbances correspondant à ces états de charge sont mesurées et une courbe ou un tableau d'étalonnage est tracé, où une absorbance donnée correspond à un état de charge donné.
