An improved picnic table having a planar table top and support braces thereunder that are affixed to the underside of the table and spaced apart in parallel; the support braces being affixed to a pair of vertically disposed side support leg members each leg support member extending in a perpendicular relationship relative to the planar table top of the picnic table. A permanently fixed bench seat extends in a lateral direction and in a perpendicular orientation relative to the vertically disposed side support leg members at one end of the structure and a pivotable bench seat extends in a lateral direction between the vertically disposed leg support members at the opposing end of the structure; the pivotable bench seat having elongated pivotal mounted seat supports that are movable through a substantial 90 degree rotational arc. The pivotal features of the pivotable bench seat will allow an easy and unimpeded access to the picnic table top for people that are confined to wheelchairs.
