A method of monitoring and controlling data transfer between user terminals (4) coupled to a first communication network (7) and a second communication network (10) via a gateway (6) and a firewall (8) includes the user terminals (4) sending access requests to the gateway (6), the gateway (6) reading each access request, modifying access rules in the firewall (8) to permit access for each user terminal requesting access based on an authenticated IP address of each user terminal and monitoring simultaneously at the firewall (8) the transfer of data between each user terminal (4) and the second communication network (10). Bandwidth allocation to the terminals may be dynamically controlled on a global or local basis.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de surveiller et de réguler le transfert de données entre des terminaux (4) utilisateurs raccordés à un premier réseau (7) de communication, et un second réseau (10) de communication, par l'intermédiaire d'une passerelle (6) et d'un pare-feu (8). Dans ce procédé, les terminaux (4) utilisateurs envoient des demandes d'accès à la passerelle (6), la passerelle (6) lit chaque demande d'accès, et modifie les règles d'accès afin de permettre l'accès à chaque terminal utilisateur demandant l'accès conformément à une adresse IP authentifiée de chaque terminal utilisateur, et surveille simultanément le transfert des données entre chaque terminal utilisateur (4) et le second réseau de communication (10) au niveau du pare-feu (8). L'attribution d'une largeur de bande aux terminaux peut être déterminée de manière dynamique à une échelle globale ou locale.
