A call directed to a mobile telephone station from a public switch telephone network is received in a mobile services switching center (301). An attempt is made to locate the profile of the mobile telephone station in a visitor location register (302). If the mobile telephone profile is not found in the visitor location register, a query message is sent to a home location register requesting routing information for the call (310). The profile has an HLR query flag for indicating whether the home location register should be queried. If the profile of the mobile telephone station is found in the visitor location register, the status for the HLR query flag is checked (304). If the HLR query flag is set to yes, a query message is sent to a home location register requesting routing information for the call (306). If the HLR query flag is set to no, the call to the mobile telephone station is completed using the profile in the visitor location register (308), so the call to the mobile telephone station is completed using the routing information received from the home location register.
Un appel dirigé vers un poste téléphonique mobile, provenant d'un réseau commuté public, est reçu dans un centre de commutation de services mobiles (301). Le système essaie de localiser le profil du poste téléphonique mobile dans un registre (302) des positions des utilisateurs occasionnels. Si ce profil téléphonique n'est pas trouvé dans ce registre, un message d'interrogation est envoyé à un registre des positions des utilisateurss permanents lui demandant d'envoyer des informations d'acheminement de cet appel (310). Le profil comporte un drapeau d'interrogation de mémoire des positions des utilisateurs permanents pour indiquer si ce registre des positions des utilisateurs permanents doit être interrogé. Si le profil du poste téléphonique mobile figure dans le registre des positions des utilisateurs occasionnels, l'état du drapeau d'interrogation de la mémoire des positions des utilisateurs permanents est vérifié (304). Si ce drapeau indique oui, un message d'interrogation est envoyé à un registre des positions des utilisateurs permanents lui demandant des informations d'acheminement de cet appel (306). Si ce drapeau indique non, l'appel adressé au poste mobile est effectué en utilisant le profil figurant dans le registre (308) des positions des utilisateurs occasionnels, de telle sorte que l'appel à destination du poste mobile est effectué en utilisant les informations d'acheminement du registre des positions des utilisateurs permanents.
