A method of joining together in vivo living tissue surfaces includes (a) holding together at least two tissue surfaces to form abutted tissue surfaces; (b) applying across said abutted tissue surfaces an excessive amount of an adhesive composition comprising at least one monomer that forms a medically acceptable polymer with an applicator having a porous applicator tip; and (c) maintaining said tissue surfaces in contact in vivo until said composition polymerizes to form a thick film of polymerized composition on said abutted tissue surface.
L'invention concerne un procédé de raccordement <u>in vivo</u> des surfaces de tissu vivant, qui consiste (a) à maintenir ensemble au moins deux surfaces tissulaires de manière à former un raccordement de ces surfaces en about, (b) à appliquer sur les surfaces ainsi raccordées, au moyen d'un applicateur ayant une extrémité applicatrice poreuse, une quantité excessive de composition adhésive comprenant au moins un monomère qui constitue un polymère médicalement acceptable; et (c) à maintenir lesdites surfaces en contact <u>in vivo</u> jusqu'au moment où la polymérisation de la composition considérée entraîne la formation d'un film épais de composition polymérisée sur le raccordement des surfaces en about.
