An arrangement in connection with cooling equipment for cooling billets (9), preferably of aluminium, comprising a housing (2) with openings (3) for axial passage of the billet through the housing as weel as a cooling ring (4) arranged inside the housing with supply lines (6) for a cooling medium. The billet (9) is designed to have cooling medium supplied to it in order to achieve uniform cooling, i.e. without a temperature gradient around the full circumference of the billet. In order to achieve this, it is expedient for the cooling medium to be designed to be supplied uniformly around the circumference of the billet (9) while the billet is designed to rotate.
Selon cette invention, un dispositif est en connexion avec un équipement de refroidissement destiné à refroidir des billettes (9), de préférence d'aluminium. Ce dispositif comprend un corps (2) doté d'orifices (3) permettant le passage axial de la billette par le corps, et d'un circuit (4) de refroidissement disposé à l'intérieur du corps et pourvu de conduites (6) d'alimentation du milieu de refroidissement. La billette (9) est conçue de sorte que le milieu de refroidissement soit appliqué de manière uniforme, c.-à-d. sans gradient de température sur la totalité de la circonférence de la billette. Pour cela, il est pratique que le milieu de refroidissement soit amené sur la circonférence du billon (9) au moment où celui-ci effectue une rotation.
