An adhesive sheet is prepared by coextruding a thermoplastic adhesive material such as a thermoplastic polyurethane and a polymeric material such as a polyolefin that forms a polymeric expendable layer. A process for making a multi-layer impact resistant glass composite made up of alternating glass and plastic layers involves interposing the adhesive sheet between the glass layer and the plastic layer, removing at least one polymeric expendable layer from the adhesive sheet, and pressing the layers together to adhere the glass layer to the plastic layer. In alternate embodiments, the adhesive sheet may be provided as a co-extruded A-B composite sheet or as an A-B-A 3-layer composite sheet.

Selon cette invention, une feuille adhésive est préparée selon un procédé consistant à co-extruder un matériau adhésif thermoplastique tel qu'un polyuréthanne thermoplastique et un matériau polymère tel qu'une polyoléfine qui forme une couche consommable polymère. Selon cette invention, un procédé de fabrication d'un composite de verre résistant aux chocs multicouche composé de couches de verre et de plastique déposées en alternance consiste à intercaler la feuille adhésive entre la couche de verre et la couche de plastique, à enlever au moins une couche consommable polymère de la feuille adhésive et à compresser les couches les unes contre les autres afin que la couche de verre adhère à la couche de plastique. Dans d'autres modes de réalisation, la feuille adhésive peut se présenter sous la forme d'une feuille composite A-B co-extrudée ou sous la forme d'une feuille composite à trois couches A-B-A.
