An exercising device of the type that may be used in hand to hand combat training or to enhance hand, eye and foot reflexes and coordination is disclosed. The device includes a central longitudinal body which is generally vertically oriented and has at least one elongate cross member, having two opposing ends, pivotally mounted on the central body. The opposing ends extend radially outward in opposite directions from said central body allowing the cross member to rotate about the longitudinal axis of the central body. When one of the ends of the cross members is struck by the hand or foot of an operator the end moves rotationally away from the operator while the opposing end moves rotationally toward the operator thereby requiring the operator to react defensively to avoid being hit by the opposing end. The cental body also includes an upper and a lower shaft and the cross members have bores extending through them that are generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axes of the respective cross members. The upper and lower shafts are received within the respective bores thereby permitting the cross members to rotate about the shafts and hence the central body.

Lorsqu'un opérateur frappe une des extrémités de l'élément transversal avec la main ou le pied, celle-ci s'éloigne de lui en pivotant tandis que l'extrémité opposée s'en rapproche par le même mouvement, ce qui oblige l'opérateur à réagir de façon défensive pour ne pas être frappé par cette dernière. La partie centrale comprend également un tige supérieure et une tige inférieure, et les éléments transversaux sont percés de trous suivant un axe généralement perpendiculaire à leur axe longitudinal. Les tiges supérieure et inférieure entrent dans les trous correspondants, ce qui permet aux éléments transversaux de pivoter autour d'elles et, ainsi, autour de la partie centrale.
