A method for the manufacture of bleach activators is provided. The process comprises dissolving an acid halide or anhydride in a water miscible hydroxyl-free solvent prior to reaction with an aqueous dispersion of an aryl hydroxysulphonate. The aqueous dispersion additionally comprises an alkali, especially sodium hydroxyde. The preferred organic solvent is acetone. The process is particularly suited to the situation where the acid halide or anhydride is a solid or poorly soluble in water and in such situations can offer improvements in yield over the processes of the prior art.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de fabrication d'activateurs de blanchiment. Le procédé consiste à dissoudre un halogénure d'acide ou anhydride dans un solvant exempt d'hydroxyle, miscible dans l'eau, avant que ne se fasse la réaction avec une dispersion aqueuse d'un hydroxysulphonate d'aryle. La dispersion aqueuse comprend de plus un alcali, notamment un hydroxyde de sodium. Le solvant organique préféré est l'acétone. Le procédé est notamment approprié lorsque l'halogénure d'acide ou anhydride est un solide, ou bien lorsqu'il est faiblement soluble dans l'eau, et lorsqu'il peut apporter des améliorations dans le rendement par rapport aux procédés de la technique antérieure.
