A method of compensating for network latency in haptics transmission in which the position of a haptic effector is controlled by signals received from a network. The method comprises storing a series of locations of the haptic effector, determining from the series using Fourier Transformation or other means frequencies having a growing amplitude and creating a filter function to eliminate the growing frequencies from output signals directing the force and direction of the haptic effector.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de compenser le temps d'attente d'un réseau dans une transmission haptique, la position d'une commande haptique étant commandée par des signaux reçus d'un réseau. Le procédé consiste à stocker une série d'emplacements de la commande haptique, à déterminer à partir de la série, grâce à la transformée de Fourier ou à d'autres moyens, des fréquences possédant une amplitude croissante et à créer une fonction filtrante permettant d'éliminer les fréquences croissantes des signaux de sortie dirigeant la force et la direction de la commande haptique.
