Abstract: A pole climbing device adapted to assist a person in climbing a pole which comprises a rigid rod having a rope loop at the end of the rod with means for tightening the loop. The user carries the rod up with his hands as he climbs the pole. In action, the user pushes the rod up, tightens the rope, pulls himself on the rod, releases the rope and raises the rod again in a repetitive cycle.
