This invention relates to an emulsified water-blended fuel composition comprising: (A) a hydrocarbon boiling in the gasoline or diesel range; (B) water; (C) a minor emulsifying amount of at least one fuel-soluble salt made by reacting (C) (I) at least one acylating agent having about 16 to 500 carbon atoms with (C) (II) ammonia and/or at least one amine; and (D) about 0.001 to about 15 % by weight of the water-blended fuel composition of a water soluble, ashless, halogen-, boron-, and phosphorus-free, amine salt, distinct from component (C). In one embodiment, the composition further comprises (E) at least one cosurfactant distinct from component (C); in one embodiment, (F) at least one organic cetane improver; and in one embodiment, (G) at least one antifreeze. The invention also relates to a method for fuelling an internal combustion engine comprising fuelling said engine with the composition of the present invention.
L'invention concernant une composition émulsionnée de carburant mélangé à de l'eau, qui comprend: (A) un hydrocarbure bouillant dans la plage d'ébullition de l'essence ou du diesel; (B) de l'eau; (C) une quantité émulsionnante moindre d'au moins un sel soluble dans le carburant, que l'on produit en faisant réagir (C)(I) au moins un agent d'acylation renfermant environ 16 à 500 atomes de carbone avec (C)(II) de l'ammoniaque et/ou au moins une amine; et (D) environ 0,001 à 15 % en poids de la composition de carburant mélangé à de l'eau d'un sel d'amine hydrosoluble, sans cendre, exempt d'halogène, de bore et de phosphore, distinct du composant (C). Dans l'un des modes de réalisation, la composition comprend en outre (E) au moins un cotensioactif différent du composant (C); dans un autre mode de réalisation, (F) au moins un agent d'amélioration du cétane; et dans encore un autre mode de réalisation, (G) au moins un antigel. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'alimenter un moteur à combustion interne, qui consiste à alimenter ledit moteur avec la composition ci-dessus.
