A prosthetic device for joints for implantation in humans and animals is disclosed, comprising a joint body (1) arranged between two fixing elements which are adapted to be connected to adjoining bone parts (5), the joint body (I) comprising at least one essentially helical spring means, and the ends of each spring means being connected to the fixing elements.
