An article of athletic footwear (100) having an air-filled bladder (190) disposed in a sole structure (120) is disclosed. The air-filled bladder is in fluid communication with ambient air through a filter (130) that permits ambient air to enter the bladder but restricts liquids and particulates from entering the bladder. In operation, the filter and bladder may be portions of a bladder system that absorb shock when the footwear contacts a playing surface. Alternatively, the filter and bladder may be portions of a bladder system that ventilates the interior of the footwear. The filter may be formed of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene that is attached to a carrier.

L'invention concerne une chaussure athlétique (100) pourvue d'un coussin d'air (190) placé dans la structure (120) de la semelle. Le coussin d'air est en communication fluidique avec l'air ambiant par l'intermédiaire d'un filtre (130) permettant à l'air ambiant d'entrer dans le coussin mais empêchant les liquides et les particules d'entrer dans le coussin.
