- 17 - O.Z. 0050/41146 Abstract of the Disclosure: A process for preparing isoxazole-5-carboxamide derivatives of the formula I Image I where R1 is an aliphatic radical of 1 to 20, a cycloaliphatic radical of 3 to 10, an aromatic radical of 6 to 10, a heteroaromatic or heterocyclic radical of 3 to 10 or an araliphatic radical of 4 to 12 carbon atoms, it being possible for these radicals to carry substituents which are inert under the reaction conditions, R2 is alkyl, R4 and R5 are identical or different and are each hydrogen, C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C5-cyanoalkyl, C2-C6-alkenyl or C2-C5-alkynyl, and/or C3-C8-cycloalkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by from 1 to 3 C1-C4- alkyl groups, or are linked to form a 5- to 8- membered cycloaliphatic ring which can contain another nitrogen or an oxygen, with the proviso that R2 is not ethyl if R1 is methyl and R4 and R5 are a combination of hydrogen and isopropyl, entails reacting isoxazole-4,5-dicarboxylic diesters of the formula II Image II where R3 is alkyl which is identical to or different from R2, with an amine of the formula III - 18 - O. Z . 0050/41146 Image III at from 0 to 100°C.
