A system and method for measuring and correcting the position of a patient are disclosed. According to an aspect of the invention, reference coordinates for particular body locations on the patient are determined. At a later treatment session, the relative positioning of the patient's body locations are adjusted to match the relative positioning of the reference coordinates. The entire body of the patient can thereafter be moved as a single unit to match the patient's body location with the absolute location of the reference coordinates.

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant de mesurer et de corriger la position d'un patient. Selon un mode de réalisation particulier de l'invention, on détermine sur le patient des coordonnées de référence correspondant à des points corporels particuliers. A une séance de traitement ultérieure, on fait correspondre le positionnement des points corporels du patient avec celui des coordonnées de référence. On peut ainsi déplacer le corps entier du patient en tant qu'entité unique, de façon à faire correspondre la position du corps du patient avec la position absolue des coordonnées de référence.
