A medical device (10) is provided with an RF marker. The RF marker produces RF shielding that is significant and clearly visible under MRI visualization. In one specific embodiment, the RF marker is formed by adding conductive paths (29) on the structural components of the medical device so that the conductive paths (29) form a closed loop that is either disposed about, or in the immediate proximity of, water molecules.
