ABSTRACT A device to compensate for play between a satellite and teeth of flanges of a reducing mechanism for adjusting seat position is made of a fixed flange with inner teeth and a mobile flange with inner teeth, held against one another by a crimped ring, and contains a satellite with double teeth bearing by means of a roller bearing on a cam driven by a driving shaft. The driving shaft has a square section provided at one end with a conical portion and supporting at the other end a cone housed in a central opening of the fixed flange. The cone is pushed back by a spring bearing against a peg extending through the driving shaft. When the teeth of the fixed flange, the mobile flange, and the satellite meet at a point where the rotation of the mobile flange is difficult, a slight longitudinal offset of the driving shaft is produced. One of the cones causes a change in eccentricity of the satellite, thus allowing for passage of the mobile flange. As soon as the flange has passed the point, the spring which has been stressed by movement of the driving shaft returns the various parts to their prior position, thus reestablishing the original eccentricity.
