An O-aryl N-(6-alkoxy-2-pyridyl)-N-alkylthiocarbamate represented by the following formula (I): (I) (wherein R1, R2 and Ar are as defined below) is produced by treating a phenol represented by the following general formula (IV): Ar-OH (IV) (wherein Ar represents an aryl group) with a base in a solvent and then adding thereto an alkali metal salt of N-(6-alkoxy-2-pyridyl)- N-alkyldithiocarbamic acid represented by the following general formula (III): (III) (wherein R1 and R2 independently represent a C1-C4 alkyl group and M represents an alkali metal) and a halomethane represented by the following general formula (V): CH2XmYn (V) (wherein X and Y represent different halogen atoms, m represents 0, 1 or 2, n represents 0, 1 or 2, and m + n equals 2) for causing a reaction.

Un O-aryl-N-(6-alkoxy-2-pyridyl)-N-alkylthiocarbamate de formule (I) ci-après : (I) (où R1, R2 et Ar sont tels que définis ci-dessous) est synthétisé par traitement d~un phénol de formule générale (IV) suivante : Ar-OH (IV) (où Ar représente un groupement aryle) avec une base dans un solvant, puis par ajout d~un sel de métal alcalin de l~acide N-(6-alkoxy-2-pyridyl)-N-alkyldithiocarbamique de formule générale (III) suivante : (III) (où R1 et R2 représentent un groupement alkyle en C1-C4, ces groupements pouvant être différents l~un de l~autre, et M représente un métal alcalin), ainsi qu~un halogénométhane de formule générale (V) suivante : CH2XmYn (V) (où X et Y représentent divers atomes d'halogène, m représente 0, 1 ou 2, n représente 0, 1 ou 2, et m+n est égal à 2), ce qui provoque une réaction.
