A host is immunized against infection by a strain of Chlamydia by initial administration of an attenuated bacteria harbouring a nucleic acid encoding a Chlamydia protein followed by administration of a Chlamydia protein in ISCOMs. This procedure enables a high level of protection to be achieved.

Selon cette invention, on immunise un hôte contre les infections par une souche de Chlamydia en administrant d'abord une bactérie atténuée comportant un acide nucléique qui code pour une protéine de Chlamydia puis en administrant une protéine de Chlamydia dans des complexes immunostimulants (ISCOMs). Cette procédure permet d'atteindre des niveaux élevés de protection.
