A cleaning device (10) for removing residual material from a mold (12) having a molding surface (13) includes a robot (14) including an arm (16) movable in a plurality of degrees of freedom, the arm having a free end. A laser (18) is connected with the robot (14) and has an output end mounted to the arm (16) proximal to the free end so as to be positionable by the robot. An optical delivery system (38) includes a plurality of optical fibers, each fiber having a first end connected with the laser (18) and a second, output end attached to the free end of the arm of the robot (14). The output ends of the optical fibers (42) are aligned such that the laser forms a stripe of light (18b) on the molding surface (13). A controller (46) is connected with the robot (14) and is configured to direct the robotic arm (16) through at least one predetermined set of movements. A rotatable support (48, 54) is disposed proximal to the robot (14) the mold (12) being disposed on the support. The robot (14) positions the output end of the laser (18) with respect to the molding surface (13) to direct light (18a) from the laser to impinge on the surface and remove residual material from the surface as rotation of the support (48, 54) aligns different sections of the molding surface with the output end of the laser.
Dispositif de nettoyage (10) qui permet de faire sortir le matériau résiduel d'un moule (12) possédant une surface de moulage (13). Le dispositif comprend un robot (14) doté d'un bras (16) pouvant se déplacer selon une pluralité de degrés de liberté et comportant une extrémité libre. Un laser (18) connecté au robot (14) comporte une extrémité de sortie montée sur le bras (16), près de son extrémité libre, de façon à pouvoir être positionnée par ledit robot. Un système de distribution optique (38) comprend une pluralité de fibres optiques, chaque fibre ayant une première extrémité connectée au laser (18) et une seconde extrémité, l'extrémité de sortie, fixée sur l'extrémité libre du bras du robot (14). Les extrémités de sortie des fibres optiques (42) sont alignées de façon que le laser forme un ruban de lumière (18b) sur la surface de moulage (13). Une unité de commande (46) connectée au robot (14) dirige le bras (16) de façon à lui faire effectuer au moins une série prédéterminée de mouvements. Un support rotatif (48, 54) est placé à proximité du robot (14) et le moule (12) est posé sur le support. Le robot (14) positionne l'extrémité de sortie du laser (18) par rapport à la surface de moulage (13) de façon à diriger la lumière (18a) émise par le laser. La lumière frappe la surface et en fait sortir le matériau résiduel, pendant que la rotation du support (48, 54) aligne les différentes parties de la surface de moulage avec l'extrémité de sortie du laser.
