The method according to the present invention has the advantage of being highly stereoselective, capable of forming a wide variety of diamines including racemic and enantiomeric forms, and employing readily available starting and reaction materials. In particular the present invention relates to a method of forming vicinal diamines from a bis-imine precursor using nucleophilic additions of organometallic reagents.
