Disclosed are water-soluble or water-dispersible binders based on polybutadienes which have been modified with at least 5% by weight of maleic anhydride and where at least 30% of the anhydride groups have been reacted with amino carboxylic acids to form imide groups, without graft polymerization of the maleic anhydride-modified polybutadienes with unsaturated monomers which cause odor nuisance. The binders in aqueous dispersions may be used as they are for forming clear coating films or may be used, after adding pigments, as primer coating materials.

L'invention porte sur des liants hydrosolubles et hydrodispersables, à base de polybutadiènes, qui ont été modifiés avec au moins 5 % en poids d'anhydride maléique, et où l'on a fait réagir au moins 30 % des groupes anhydride avec des acides amino-carboxyliques pour former des groupes imide, sans polymérisation par greffage des polybutadiènes modifiés par l'anhydride maléique avec des monomères non saturés, source de problèmes d'odeur. Les liants dans des dispersions aqueuses peuvent être employés tels quels pour former des pellicules de revêtement transparentes, ou, après addition de pigments, comme substances pour couches primaires.
