A method of tracking a security document, the security document having disposed thereon or therein coded data including a number of coded data portions, each coded data portion being indicative of an identity of the security document, the method including, in a computer system: receiving indicating data from a sensing device, the sensing device being responsive to sensing of the coded data to generate indicating data indicative of the identity of the product item; and, updating, using the received indicating data, tracking data stored in a data store, tracking data being indicative of: the identity of the security document; and, tracking information.
L'invention concerne un procédé de suivi de documents de sécurité qui contiennent intérieurement ou extérieurement des données codées composées d'un certain nombre de parties de données codées, chaque partie de données codées correspondant à une identité du document de sécurité. Ce procédé, dans un système informatique, consiste à: recevoir des données indicatrices d'un dispositif de détection, lequel est sensible à la détection des données codées pour produire des données indicatrices révélant l'identité de l'article; et, mettre à jour, au moyen des données indicatrices reçues, les données de suivi stockées dans une mémoire, ces données révélant l'identité du document de sécurité; et enfin, repérer les informations.
