A process is disclosed for preparing N-substituted pyrazoles having the general formula (I), in which R1 stands for C1 to C12 alkyl or C7 to C20 phenylalkyl, and R2, R3, R4 represent independently from each other hydrogen, C1 to C12 alkyl, C7 to C20 phenylalkyl or optionally substituted aryl residues, by reacting pyrazoles having the general formula (II), in which R2, R3 and R4 have above-said meanings, with an alcohol having the general formula (III) R1-O-H, in which R1 has above-said meanings, at temperatures from 50 to 400 ~C in the presence of a catalyst. The reaction of pyrazole (II) with compound (III) is carried out in a molar ratio from 0.001:1 to 1:1 in the liquid phase at a slight negative pressure up to an overpressure of 250 bars. Acids, their alkyl esters and/or their anhydrides are used as catalysts in a molar ratio from 0.0001:1 to 0.5:1 in relation to pyrazole (II).

Ce procédé sert à préparer des pyrazols substitués en N ayant la formule générale (I), dans laquelle R?1¿ désigne alkyle C¿1? à C¿12? ou phénylalkyle C¿7? à C¿20?, et R?2¿, R?3¿, R?4¿ désignent indépendamment les uns des autres hydrogène, alkyle C¿1? à C¿12?, phénylalkyle C¿7? à C¿20? ou des résidus aryle éventuellement substitués. Selon ce procédé, on fait réagir des pyrazols ayant la formule générale (II), dans laquelle R?2¿, R?3¿ et R?4¿ ont la signification susmentionnée, avec un alcool ayant la formule générale (III) R?1¿-O-H, dans laquelle R?1¿ a la signification susmentionnée, à des températures comprises entre 50 et 400 ·C en présence d'un catalyseur. La réaction du pyrazol (II) avec le composé (III) est effectuée dans la phase liquide sous une légère pression négative jusqu'à une surpression de 250 bars dans un rapport molaire compris entre 0,001:1 et 1:1. On utilise comme catalyseur des acides, leurs esters et/ou leurs anhydrides d'alkyle dans un rapport molaire par rapport au pyrazol (II) compris entre 0,0001:1 et 0,5:1.
