Method for machining a face (1) of an optical object (6), comprising a step of providing a machine tool which itself comprises: a bed (1) for locating an object to be machined, this bed (1), which has a receiving surface (3), being angularly adjustable about an axis perpendicular to the receiving surface (3); a spindle (8) suitable for rotating a machining tool (9) about an axis essentially parallel to the receiving surface (3) of the bed (1) and suitable for moving this machining tool (9) translationally in a plane essentially parallel or perpendicular to the receiving surface (3) of the bed (1).

Procédé d'usinage d'une face (1) d'un objet optique (6), comportant une étape de fourniture d'une machine d'usinage qui comporte elle-même : un plateau (1) pour le montage d'un objet à usiner, ce plateau (1), qui comporte une surface de réception (3), étant orientable angulairement autour d'un axe transversal à la surface de réception (3); une broche (8) adaptée à entraîner un outil d'usinage (9) en rotation autour d'un axe sensiblement parallèle à la surface de réception (3) du plateau (1) et adaptée à déplacer cet outil d'usinage (9) en translation dans un plan sensiblement parallèle ou perpendiculaire à la surface de réception (3) du plateau (1).
