In order to enhance the fatigue strength of the tread reinforcement (3) of a tyre with an aspect ratio H/S of 0.6 or less, said reinforcement is formed with a triangulation ply (31) extending radially outwards, made of metal cables forming an angle of 60~ or more, with two working tread plies (32, 34) made of non extensible metal cables forming an angle of 10~ to 45~, between which is inserted an additional ply (33) of metallic elements substantially parallel to the circumference of said tyre.
