Abstract of the Disclosure A firefighter helmet having an outer jacket of a neoprene material and a liner of a polycarbonate resin in which the jacket provides heat, sunlight, gas and impact resistance for the polycarbonate liner. The jacket and liner are separable and are interconnected by bands of hook and loop material. The liner includes a bowl portion and a brim portion, each having recesses to receive a band for attaching support webbing. The jacket includes external ribs to enhance the shock-resisting capabilities of the helmet. TDL295.PAC 6/17/92
