A wireless communication network (10) includes a plurality of mobile nodes (12a-h) each including a transceiver (14), a phased array antenna (16) connected to the transceiver, and a controller (18) connected to the transceiver. The controller (18) discovers routes and routes communications to neighboring nodes (12a-h) with a routing protocol, e.g. an Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) protocol. The controller (18) schedules time slots to establish a communication link (18e) with each neighboring mobile node (12), and the phased array antenna (16) is aimed (18c) by the controller (18) towards each neighboring mobile node (12) during communication therewith. Also, the controller estimates link quality (18h) based upon the quality of each time slot scheduled for the communication link and reports estimated link quality to the routing protocol (18i).
Cette invention se rapporte à un réseau de communication sans fil, qui comprend plusieurs noeuds contenant chacun un émetteur/récepteur, une antenne réseau à commande de phase connectée à l'émetteur/récepteur, et un contrôleur connecté à l'émetteur/récepteur. Le contrôleur découvre des trajets et achemine les communications aux noeuds voisins au moyen d'un protocole d'acheminement, par exemple un protocole d'acheminement d'état de liaison optimisé (OLSR). Le contrôleur planifie les intervalles de temps pour établir une liaison de communication avec chaque noeud mobile voisin, et l'antenne réseau à commande de phase est pointée par le contrôleur sur chaque noeud mobile voisin pendant la communication avec lui. Le contrôleur estime en outre la qualité de la liaison sur la base de la qualité de chaque intervalle de temps planifié pour la liaison de communication et adresse au protocole d'acheminement un rapport sur la qualité estimée de la liaison.
