This invention is a keyboard arrangement in which a conventional keyboard is divided into two sections (5a, 5b), each of which is separately supported on a joint (16) which is freely rotatable and pivotable. The joint in turn may have a supporting base (25) adapted to rest on or to be clamped to a table top or other support surface. Alternatively, the joints supporting the respective keyboard sections may be mounted on a supporting based member (25), which may have an adjustable width so that the separation between the two keyboard sections can be varied. The sections may have palm rests (39a, 39b) thereon.
Par rapport à un clavier traditionnel, ce clavier se compose de deux panneaux (5a, 5b), chaque panneau étant fixé sur un dispositif d'articulation particulier (16) qui lui assure une complète liberté de rotation et de pivotement. En outre, le dispositif d'articulation peut être monté sur un bloc-support (25) conçu pour être posé sur un dessus de table ou tout autre type de surface ou pour y être maintenu par une fixation à serrage. Dans une autre réalisation, chacun des dispositifs d'articulation auxquels sont fixés les panneaux du clavier peut être monté sur un élément (25) servant de bloc-support, et dont la largeur est réglable de façon que l'on puisse modifier l'écart entre les deux panneaux du clavier. Ces deux panneaux du clavier sont munis de surfaces d'appui (39a, 39b) pour les paumes des mains.
