DNAs encoding rhesus monkey carcinoembryonic antigen (rhCEA) have been isolated, cloned and sequenced. The gene encoding CEA is commonly associated with the development of human carcinomas. The present invention provides compositions and methods to elicit or enhance immunity to the protein product expressed by the CEA tumor-associated antigen, wherein aberrant CEA expression is associated with a carcinoma or its development. This invention specifically provides adenoviral vector constructs carrying rhCEA and discloses their use in vaccines and pharmaceutical compositions for preventing and treating cancer.
Des ADN codant pour l'antigène carcino-embryonnaire rhésus (rhCEA) ont été isolés, clonés et séquencés. Le gène codant pour CEA est associé généralement au développement de carcinomes humains. La présente invention concerne des compositions et des procédés permettant de susciter ou d'accroître l'immunité vis-à-vis du produit protéique exprimé par l'antigène spécifique de tumeurs CEA, une expression aberrante de CEA étant associée à un carcinome ou à son développement. L'invention concerne de façon spécifique des constructions de vecteurs adénoviraux portant rhCEA, ainsi que leur utilisation dans des vaccins et des compositions pharmaceutiques destinés à être utilisés en prévention et traitement du cancer.
